One of the most difficult parts of keeping yourself in shape is making sure you pack your personal meal management system with the right foos. Everyone needs a little help in learning how to curb snack cravings. Stores and advertisers are trying all the time to make cheap and unhealthy food more and more appealing, and sometimes it's difficult to resist. To help keep those cravings under control, here's a list of healthy alternatives to many of the treats we have to resist every day.

Eat Kale Chips, Not Salty Potato Chips:

The greasy fingers, the crumbs that get everywhere, not to mention the heavy hit to a well maintained diet, potato chips are a big no to anyone trying to keep their body fit and toned. Yet, this doesn't mean that all crunchy treats have to be lost to you for the sake of a better physique. Kale chips are a great, and tasty, way of treating yourself to some munching snacks without losing all that hard work.

Eat Fruit, Not Chocolate

Ah, chocolate. The proverbial go-to treat for sweet tooth craving. Yet, it's also one of the best ways to fill that trim and lean stomach with unneeded sugars. This is especially true for lighter chocolates that have extra milk and sweeteners, and less of the antioxidant containing cocoa that health sites often rave about. To help keep your candy cravings in check, try instead reaching for a cup of cherries or other fruits. While sweet, fruits tend to have fewer calories; a cup of fruit on average will hold less than 100, so you get more bang for your caloric buck.

Eat Homemade Pizza, Not Store or Restaurant Brand

Pizza gets a rather unfortunate rap for being what it is, delicious and oh so fattening. This is most true with items bought from a fast food restaurant or found in the frozen foods section of any major store. However, you can still enjoy a little bit of Italian delight in your diet if you make sure to put together the pizza yourself. That way, you can control the nutritional content of all the toppings and ingredients, and avoid the greasy, fatty mess that most other brands suffer from.

Eat Frozen Yogurt, Not Ice Cream

Especially for most of the brand name ice creams that are found in the frozen treats aisle that seem to tempt and tease with flavors like birthday cake and brownie. You don't need more sugary treats in your sugary treats! Instead, you can reach for some low fat frozen yogurt to curb your cold treat cravings. It will let you enjoy a tasty treat, without sacrificing all those hard won days at the gym.

Drink Iced Tea, Not Soda

There's no shame in admitting that it's nice to drink something other than flavorless water when your using a meal management system. Yet, soda is chalk full of high-fructose corn syrup, and most other drinks have plenty of sugars and artificial sweeteners. If you're looking to learn how to curb cravings for something new to drink, but don't want to ruin all of your hard work doing so, try stocking your bodybuilding cooler bag with a few bottles of iced tea. It'll add barely any calories to your diet, while at the same time giving your palette some much needed diversity.
