6 Pack Bags Fitness Feature: Tomi Ann Butler, Pt. 2

TomiAnnButler1 In the weeks since our Fitness Feature on Tomi Ann Butler, she has continued to ride her dream of becoming a competitive bodybuilder. Almost a year to the date since she started on her weight loss journey in March 2012, Tomi took 11th place at the 2013 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. "My goal for next year's Arnold is a top five placing," Butler exclaims. "Big plans, big goals, big dreams." Read on to discover the conclusion of our interview with Tomi Ann, as we talk about her diet plan, meal prep process and how she uses her meal management system daily. If you've found inspiration in Tomi Ann's story, she has also offered up the exact meal guide that she used during her tremendous weight loss process. It's truly proof that if you eat right, you can get tight and achieve the body that you've always wanted. Let's talk diet, Tomi Ann. What do you eat everyday? A lot of lean proteins. I use protein powder, which I have a couple times a day. I eat chicken, fish, lean beef, asparagus and broccoli. No processed foods. I've cut out sugar. I have healthy fats like nut butter, almonds and avocados on salads. I really just focus on eating clean healthy food, the way we were meant to be. A lot of people create special recipes for their 6 Pack Bags. Have you come up with any of your own? Breakfast is my favorite. I've got my protein pancakes. They are made with egg whites and oatmeal that I put into a blender. I spray my pan with Pam, cook it up and put sugar free syrup on it. I put them in my bag and I eat them in the locker room at the gym. With my big 6 Pack Bag, I store around two liters of water in four bottles and then I use the other side as a gym bag. So it's like my gym bag, my make up bag and there is room for water and food. What's your food prep process like? It all started at Arnold. I hadn't dated in a couple of years and I ended up meeting a bodybuilder at Arnold. He has since moved to Florida with me and he has his 6 Pack Bag too. We do our meal preps together, usually on Saturday night or Sunday. First, we cook up all of our chicken, tilapia and lean beef. We get our broccoli steamed, veggies roasted and then we get out our 6 Pack tupperware and it's like a little assembly line. We've got it down to a science. It's so easy once we have it done, then you don't have to think about it for a whole week. He's a sweetheart and he packs my bag up for me, but all you have to do is just get up and you go. It's that easy.   Tomi Ann Butler's Meal PlanTomiAnnButler Meal 1 Time: 6:30 AM 5 egg whites (1 cup) 1/2 cup Quaker Oats w/ water and Splenda Total Protein: 30 grams Total Carbs: 27 grams Total Fat: 3 grams Total kCals: 250 Meal 2 Time: 9:30 AM 1 scoop About Time protein w/ water 1 medium fresh apple or 1 cup of fresh berries Total Protein: 24 grams Total Carbs: 20 grams Total Fat: 0 grams Total kCals: 185 Meal 3 Time: 12:30 PM 6 oz. chicken breast/white fish 4 oz. green veggies (green beans, broccoli or asparagus) 3 oz. baked sweet potato TomiAnnButler2Total Protein: 33 grams Total Carbs: 24 grams Total Fat: 2 grams Total kCals: 255 Meal 4 Time: 3:30 PM 1 1/2 scoops of About Time protein w/ water 1 tablespoon Natural Ground Peanut Butter Total Protein: 43 grams Total Carbs: 6 grams Total Fat: 8 grams Total kCals: 242 Meal 5 Time: 6:30 PM 4 oz. 93% lean ground turkey or beef 4 oz. steamed green vegetable Total Protein: 33 grams Total Carbs: 10 grams Total Fat: 9 grams Total kCals: 258 Meal 6 Time: Bedtime 1 scoop Dymatize Casein protein w/ water Total Protein: 24 grams Total Carbs: 5 grams Total Fat: 1 Gram Total kCals: 120       Through her dedication and kick-ass spirit, Tomi Ann Butler has been able to drop 70 pounds in one year and leave her poor eating habits behind for good.
